So it doesn’t look like we have a solution yet. Meanwhile the older Mac continues to work OK. The attempts to read the USB failed as before. That was after a computer restart ~ % sudo /usr/libexec/checkLocalKDC I ran the checkLocalKDC again and found the same “does not match” message. Georges-MacBook-Air ~ % sudo /usr/libexec/configureLocalKDC So I then went ahead and tried your suggestion: The Beta 11.6.1 (20G214) was released on 6th October 2021 - is this the version you have - if you select 11.6, it reveals the Build Number.Īfter reading man configureLocalKDC, I first ran this command: sudo /usr/libexec/checkLocalKDCĪnd - although still mysterious - is does seem to indicate there is some kind of certificate ~ % man ~ % man ~ % sudo /usr/libexec/checkLocalKDC
I have tried all combinations including using the log-in admin and password code for the modem itself rather than the presented Mac PC owner's name and password but won't connect. Unlike the Arcadyan LH:1000 where you can enter an authorised User and Password to individuals into the modem to allow access from authorised parties on your modems's network, the Technicolor modem has no such input screens for File Server on its Shared Content Screen, so I am not sure if this influences matters. Looking back now, maybe that was bug with Authentication in 11.2.3. On 11-04-2021 ( assume it was 11.2.3 then per Wikipedia History), I was able to access a USB stick connected to the DJA0230 by selecting Guest when challenged by the MacOS, without a password and now that does not work. The new Technicolor firmware replaced Samba with YNQ for the embedded modem File Server conversion utility but it appears that may have also influenced the previous anonymous log-in access (Guest) that was used successfully from a Mac.
MacRumour posts confirmed the SMB issue was addressed in 11.3.2 however I am not aware if those posts related to NAS applications only. The work around code suggested by to be apply back in earlier versions going back to 2018, so it may still help but I haven't loaded it as I don't use a USB external drive. Hi - I tested this out on a DJA0230 with current firmware and connected wirelessly to it from my Mini Mac on 11.6 Build (20G165) which was released on the 13th September 2021( also the 13th version of 11.6) and got the same failed authentication behaviour as you did. I have talked to Telstra help chat people without success. Ls /Volumes/SanDisk_Extreme_1_82ff/Jaques_Diffaction_Photos/003/īut on the MacBook Air I get a "No such file or directory". Then the connection disappears BUT will return after waiting many minutes and connect/edit as Guest is automatically restored.įrom the older Mac in Terminal this command will list all files on the USB:
".Mac OS Big Sur 11.6Īn older 2012 MacBook Pro on OS10.14 Mojave will connect and read the networked driver as before! It will allow read and write as “Guest” but will throw up error message if I hit “Connect As”. But From my MacBook Air Finder under Network > telstra-modem > Connect As all I get is an error message "There was a problem connecting to " telstra-modem" Check the server name and IP address and try again. The USB storage device shows up in the Content Sharing panel. I can see the device in the browser at but no longer can I open it from my Mac Finder. I used to be able to read files from USB plugged into Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 router/modem.
